You’d be my lover forever
You’d be my friend till the end
You claimed my quest for eternal joy
Had finally met its end.

I needed like nothing to believe you
I could never have faced the harm
Or the falsehood and fiction of your innocent smile
The lies hidden beneath your charm.

You’ve closed the gaps between love and lust
You’ve bridged the forces of soul and sea
If I had ever the hint of your scheming heart
I would never have ever believed.

My lovers touch has hardened now
My angel’s once golden heart stone
I could love her with the passion of the world and its poets,
But she will forever walk alone.

Needing was a crime she could not commit
Giving to another was a sin
Loving was a loss she’d forever regret
As alone, her shallow world begins.

I’m taking my leave of this traitor’s heart
In the hopes that she will find
A love so rare and so ardently secure
So exceedingly precious as mine.

I’ve given the gift of her freedom to her
I’ve sworn to never look back
This promise above all else I will forever keep
As my memories of her fade to black.
